Currently the Phoenix and Dragon maps are on their own, complete separate from one another.
The new map will feature an additional 3000x3000 block, which will be used to connect the two isolated Phoenix and Dragon maps.
This extension moves the dragon faction's coordinates into the Y: 6000-9000 range.
So, where the Capital at 250,250 used to be for Dragon's, it is now located at: 250, 6250
There are no monsters inside the war zone, instead it is tightly packed with counties, metros, and state capitals:
The density is roughly 3 counties per 10x10 block, 1 metro per 10x10 block, and 1 State Capital per 46x46 block.
The Beginning
In the beginning each faction will start by owning 3 Strongholds each, the ones directly adjacent to their map (as indicated by the color).
Strongholds
There are 9 strongholds within the War zone, one for each 1000x1000 section of map.
Each Stronghold will automatically regenerate troops. The speed of the regeneration is based on the quantity of strongholds owned by your faction. The more strongholds you own, the slower troops are produced. The less strongholds you own, the faster troops are produced.
Strongholds are Not owned by a single player. When the last troops is killed, whoever delivered that final blows wins the stronghold for their entire faction, not for themselves. Everyone will be able to view the quantity of troops inside their factions strongholds, and be able to reinforce them with troops (you cannot withdraw them).
Again I repeat, No owner of the stronghold. If you get the last attack, you do not get your name on the stronghold and you do not get to enter it. You win it for the faction, so the faction has ownership of it and the faction gains its benefits (we will add additional benefits later.)
If you are the final conquer on a Stronghold and win, your army will be returned to you. This is different than a successful conquer on any other building, where your army enters it once captured.
Their locations are as follows:
X = 500 , Y = 3500
X = 500 , Y = 4500
X = 500 , Y = 5500
X = 1500 , Y = 3500
X = 1500 , Y = 4500
X = 1500 , Y = 5500
X = 2500 , Y = 3500
X = 2500 , Y = 4500
X = 2500 , Y = 5500
War Zone Mechanics
Movement
Within The Warzone, movement can only take place in the squares your faction owns or within squares directly adjacent to those your faction owns.
Big Arrows dictate an ability to Attack.
Small Arrows dictate an ability to reinforce / transport and attack.
Extra Large Phantom Arrows indicate an "invasion" path.
The following will detail an Example scenario, pay close attention to the arrows.

Starting Layout
First Move: Dragon

Third Move: Phoenix Invasion
You will notice that Phoenix now has a straight line into the dragon Factions Map. This enables Phoenix players to move as far as they can across the war zone, directly into the dragon map (if they have enough resources).
Fourth Move: Dragon Cutoff
Notice here that the dragons cut off the straight, direct route into their map, but Phoenix can still attack into the Dragon's map IF, and only if, they already resided within that bottom left square. The bottom left square is 100% cutoff from reinforcements of any kind. It is now effectively an island that must defend itself, or flee into the enemy territory.
Buffs
Buffs are a key aspect to the PvP release. Each and every stronghold is important, but not individually (not yet). In order to attain a faction-wide buff, your faction must first control a series of 3 Strongholds in any of a specific set of patterns.
The Patterns are as follows:
Parallel to your Factions Map: 10% Defensive Buff (Per Row)
Perpendicular to your Factions Map: 10% Offensive Buff (Per Row)
Diagonal to your Factions Map: +2 HP/Mana increase (Per Diagonal)
Examples
The red sections are "neutral", simply for the purposes of displaying the buffs. In reality, there will only be 3 neutral SH's in the very beginning, and after that nothing will be neutral again.
Defensive:
Notice the vertical green line in the center, creating a parallel line to the Dragon Factions Map. This creates a defensive buff, giving 10% to defense to the entire Dragon faction.
Offensive:
Notice the horizontal gold line in the center, creating a perpendicular line to the Phoenix Factions Map. This creates an offensive buff, giving 10% to attack to the entire Phoenix faction.
Health / Mana:
Notice the diagonal green line in the center. This creates a special buff, giving +2 HP and +2 Mana regen to the entire Dragon faction.
Double Buffs and Counter-Buffs:
The buffs your faction can attain can be increased. If you had for example, 2 parallel lines, then you would receive 2 defensive buffs (20%). However the buffs can also be negated. If you have 1 defensive buff, and the other faction has 1 defensive buff, then no one receives the defensive buff.
Here are some examples to help you visualize this better:
Double Defensive Buff:
It is important to note that this would never happen exactly like this, because the 3 red sections will never be neutral, nonetheless, this shows what a double buff is.
Realistic Defensive Buffs:
In this example, Dragon has 2 defensive buffs and Phoenix has 1. This means that Dragon receives a 10% defensive bonus, because one of their buffs is negated by Phoenix's. Phoenix receives no buff.
Double Offensive Buff:
Again, note that the red section would never happen, but let's assume that it could. This shows a basic double offensive buff for
Phoenix.
Double Health / Mana Buff:
Again, note that the red section would never happen, but let's assume that it could. This shows a basic double health / mana buff.
Defensive Double Health / Mana Buff (Dragon)
This shows 1 defensive buff for the Dragon Faction, and 2 Health / Mana Buffs for Dragon. Total +10% Defense and +4 HP / Mana Regen.
Double Defense Double Health / Mana Buff (Dragon)
Offensive Double Defense Buff (Dragon)
Single Offensive and Single Defensive Buff (Dragon)
Full Buff
The chances of this ever occurring are extremely unlikely, however it is possible. This provides a 30% Offensive, 30% Defensive, and +4 HP / Mana Buff.
