Rules

The following information on this page is simply a summarization of our Terms of Service, which everyone agreed to upon entrance of the game.

Cheating

  1. Cheating of any form is not allowed. Cheating is defined as:
    • Using non-standard methods for creating an advantage beyond normal gameplay, usually to make the game easier, or exploiting mechanics to receive more of an object then was intended, which includes, but is not limited to:
      • Troops, Gems, Rep, or Tokens
      • Health, Mana, or Resources
  2. Anyone caught cheating, or knowingly assisting a cheater, will be dealt with severely and promptly. In most cases they will be banned from the game. If not banned, they will have all offending troops and gems removed.
  3. We take every cheating complaint very seriously and always follow up on each complaint received.
  4. If you purchase game assets outside of the game, we retain the right to remove them if the source is confirmed to have acquired the assets via cheating.

Chat Rules
We always attempt to warn players for light offenses first. Everyone gets a second chance, but sometimes a player may be silenced without warning. If you feel actions taken against you were overly harsh or unjust, please politely present your case to the staff member who took action against you prior to contacting a higher-up. No staff member will remove a restriction placed on you by another staff member.
  1. We have a language filter for a reason, use it. Attempting to make a word bypass the filter is considered filter skipping and will be dealt with.
    • Example: If "table" was filtered and you said "tab1e" - that would be filter skipping, however this only applies to curse words.
    • We allow players of 18 years of age or older to disable their filter, under the preferences tab within the Help section.
  2. Keep controversial subjects to a minimum when possible otherwise use a non-offensive, friendly demeanor. This includes, but is not limited to topics such as Race, Religion, Sex and Drugs.
  3. Keep overtly sexual content to a minimum. Remember there are others both young and old who do not wish to hear it.
  4. Absolutely no promotion of cheating, hacking, or bug exploitation will be tolerated.
  5. Solicitation of in-game goods or services for out-of-game goods or services will not be tolerated (this includes eBay sells and the like).
  6. Promotion of games unauthorized by Pocket-Play will not be tolerated.
  7. Cross-Server trading is not supported. These posts will be deleted on sight.
  8. Posts filled with white space or symbols are considered spam and will be deleted on sight.
  9. Above all else, be considerate and polite when chatting. 
Any post breaking one of the rules listed above will be deleted on sight, and the player in question may be warned (up to the moderators discretion).
Moderators are authorized to silence a repeat offender for varying lengths of time, depending on severity and quantity of offenses.

Lord Names
Players are not allowed to have lord names containing filtered words in them. When a player is found with such a name, they will be silenced until they choose a new name and present it to the staff member who silenced them. The name will be changed for free, by the staff member. The player does not need to purchase a name change when this occurs. Once the name has been changed the staff member will unsilence the player in question.
The above will be the same process for city or fortress names that violate the filter.

The above is a rough summarization of the rules. At any time these rules may change without notice and be acted on as such. Please remember this is a free game that no one is forcing you to play. However, ultimately the staff is here to assist players and maintain a fair and family friendly environment, as well as help when possible.

The Staff and their abilities
  • Moderator: (2-5 per server) We no longer staff moderators.
    • Each moderator is assigned a server and given access to limited tools on that server only. The abilities listed below apply only to the server they are assigned to.
    • Abilities:
      • Rename any player on their assigned server.
      • Silence any player on their assigned server.
      • Unsilence any player on their assigned server.
    • Restrictions
      • Cannot play, under any circumstance, on the servers they moderate on.
      • Can never have played seriously on the servers they moderate on.
      • Are not privy to any secret game impacting information.
      • Must always remain 100% unbiased, failure to do so results in immediate termination.
    • Responsibility: 
      • A moderator's key responsibility is to keep the peace on world chat and within the game, when possible. 
        • Players of all ages play the game, which is why we have provided the ability for players of 18 years or older to turn off the language filter and swear their faces off.
      • A moderator will rename anyone with an offending name to a new name of that players choice.
      • A moderator monitors the server and reports any severe problems to their Administrator.
      • A moderator is also a mentor, someone to help guide and direct new players.
  • Server Admin:
    • Each Server admin is assigned a single server, in the same way Moderators are. Their abilities apply only to that single server and its players.
    • All the abilities and restrictions of a Moderator.
    • Additional Abilities:
      • Change Title for any player on their assigned server.
      • Change Faction for any player on their assigned server
      • Change Password for any player on their assigned server.
      • Suspend any player on their assigned server. (Does not show in system chat)
      • Unsuspend any player on their assigned server.
      • Ban any player on their assigned server. (Shows in system chat)
      • Unban any player on their assigned server.
      • Restore or Remove any of the following: (Each has a max of 2147483647 at a time)
        • Troops
        • Gems
        • Reputation
        • Tokens
    • A Server Admin handles the emails for their server only.
      • Flags certain issues for Head Admin
    • A Server Admin receives logs of every action taken by a moderator on their server
      • Reviews logs on a regular basis
  • Head Admin:
    • Has all the abilities of a Server Admin, but for every server.
    • Can only play on the Test Server
    • Receives logs of every action taken by every Server Admin and Moderator
      • Reviews logs on a daily basis
    • Assists with emails for all servers
    • Is responsible for all staff actions
    • Handles serious or severe player complaints
    • Monitors troop quantities and gem counts to identify cheaters.
    • Acts on every cheater report received, reviewing and digesting their account information to determine truth.
    • Removes troops and gems from mild cheaters.
    • Suspends / Bans severe cheaters (and removes troops, gems, and sometimes rep).
    • Does not have database access
    • Creates these web pages to keep the population informed.
  • Developer / Super Admin: [PocketPlay]
    • Can do anything and everything listed above, and so much more... including changing the grass color to pink.
    • Has direct database access
    • Is responsible for developing the game
    • Acts on major cheater reports received, reviewing market transactions and account activity.
    • Suspends / Bans severe cheaters (and removes troops, gems, and sometimes rep).
